U.S. Posted Base Oil Prices
Weekly base oil pricing data from January 2004 to the present is now available to purchase as an Excel file.
Every Wednesday Lube Report publishes current U.S. posted paraffinic base oil prices. (See the U.S. Base Oil Price Report at www.LubeReport.com.) These weekly prices, posted by nine paraffinic base oil refiners, are reported in U.S. dollars per gallon and in U.S. dollars per metric ton.
This weekly U.S. paraffinic base oil pricing data can be purchased by product, by company and/or by period of time. Each individual posting is one product. For example, ExxonMobil's API Group I SN 100 is one product; Motiva's Group II 105 vis is one product; etc. The sample price chart pictured below shows the products for which prices are currently posted. Data for past periods includes prices posted by predecessor companies (for example, Sunoco, whose base oil refinery was acquired by Holly) and companies that no longer supply base oils (for example, Citgo).
- Data for one product for one year is $175; additional years for the same product are $100 per year.
- Data for one company (all its products) for one year is $300. Additional years are $150 per year.
- Data for all companies, all products, for one year is $750; additional years are $400 per year.
- All data, Jan. 2004 to present, for all companies and all products, is $1,750.
